• Removing your Nobi

How do we proceed to disassemble a lamp and why?

There are two reasons why we would disassemble a lamp:
    1. We are going to hang the lamp in a different location.
    2. The lamp is defective ( Go to step 2)

    1. We are going to hang the lamp in a different location.

When we move a lamp to another room or site, we first reset it to its factory settings.

We do this to ensure a smooth onboarding at the new location.

To reset a lamp, we proceed as follows:

We log in via the app on the mobile device.

    Schermafbeelding 2023-10-17 om 10.33.41.png

We go to the housing unit where the lamp is located.

    Schermafbeelding 2023-10-17 om 10.31.53.png

We press edit and then arrive at the screen with the general information of the room.

    Schermafbeelding 2023-10-17 om 09.54.11.png

Here we go to rooms and select the three dots at the bottom of the room where the lamp hangs.Schermafbeelding 2023-10-17 om 09.55.11.png

Here we go to rooms and select the three dots at the bottom of the room where the lamp hangs.

    We choose edit device.

    Schermafbeelding 2023-10-17 om 09.55.29.png

    Then we choose Factory reset.

The app will now look for the device and you will see the six letter code

    Schermafbeelding 2023-10-17 om 09.56.33.png

After you have received the code you select it and press link at the bottom right

You will receive the message that after approximately 1 minute the lamp will light blue again.
When this is the case and the lamp flashes blue again, we are ready to disassemble the lamp.

    2. Dismantling the Nobi lamp

We need the following tools for disassembly:
    - A small flat-head screwdriver
    - A 2mm Allen key

    We proceed as follows:
We first turn off the fuse for the lighting.
Then we will use the flat screwdriver to disconnect the plug in the lamp.

    IMG_2450_2.jpg

We place the screwdriver as shown in the photo in the provided opening and press it out.
Now we can pull the plug from the socket and the lamp is disconnected.

We then have to disconnect the three steel cables from the lamp.
We do this by holding the lamp and pressing down the opening where the steel cable goes.

    IMG_2451.jpg
You can now lower the lamp and the cable will come loose.
You do this for the three cables.
The lamp is now completely loose and can be stored.

For the last part we need the 2mm Allen key.

The four black screws on the side of the power supply are loosened. The cover will now come off.

    Unscrew.jpg

Now it is just a matter of loosening the 3 wires by pushing on the tabs so that you can pull out the wires. This applies to both the wires of the lamp and the wires coming from the ceiling.
Finally, you just need to unscrew the mounting plate.

Now you are ready to move the lamp to another location

    • Nobi gen 1: 802.11b, g (2.4GHz) and ac (5GHz).  802.11n is not supported.
    • Nobi gen 2: 802.11b, g (2.4GHz) and ac, n (5GHz).

The following types of authentication are possible:

    • Open network
    • WPA Personal
    • WPA Enterprise (only username and password)

This is the info about the strength - minimum for us it is -67db
-30 db: This is the maximum signal strength. If you have this measurement, you are likely standing right next to the access point.
-50 db: This is considered an excellent signal strength.
-60 db: This is a good signal strength.
-67 db: This is a reliable signal strength. This is the minimum for any online services that require a reliable connection and Wi-Fi signal strength.
-70 db: This is not a strong signal strength. You may be able to check your email.
-80 db: This is an unreliable signal strength. You may be able to connect to your network, but you will not support most online activity.
-90 db: This is a bad signal strength. You are not likely to connect to internet at this level.
you can check this on your smartphone with Wifi analyzer
  • Onboarding your new Nobi lamp in an organization

    Scherm_afbeelding_2023-02-28_om_13.16.34.png

Congratulations on the delivery of your

    Nobi Partnership.

The purpose of this kit is to enable you to experience first hand how powerful the Nobi solution is and be able to demonstrate Nobi in a convincing way to your potential customers.

It is vital that you fully understand the purpose and functions of the Nobi solution before showing it to potential customers. Getting to know Nobi needs a team of 2 people where one person acts as the Nobi user and the other person as care staff.

In addition to this document, online courses are available at

    nobi.life/training.

    This box includes:

    x 1 functional Nobi Lamp

x 1 Nobi ceiling mount kit

x 1 functional Nobi wall switch to switch the LED lighting of Nobi on and off.

x Wall plugs to mount Nobi and Nobita (6) x Screws to mount Nobi and Nobita (6)
    x Allen wrench
    x Hexagonal bolds (4)

    Installation Process

The mounting of Nobi should take no longer than 10 minutes
The mounting of the Nobi wall switch takes no longer than 5 minutes
The onboarding process including connecting any accessories (like blood pressure meters or scales) should take no longer than 2 minutes

    Scherm_afbeelding_2023-02-28_om_13.22.30.png

    1

Take Nobi out of the box and place it on a flat surface.

    2

Take the ceiling mounting plate out of
the box together with 2 screws and 2 plugs.

    3

Remove the existing light (if there is one) form the ceiling exposing 3 electrical wires (Earth, Neutral and Switched Line). Make sure you know what wire is what. Usually Neutral is blue and Earth is green/yellow. These colours might differ depending on the country or local electrical installation requirements and habits. Don’t use the black wire.

The Switched Line will normally be bridged by a bluetooth component behind the wall switch. Only in the DEMO environment it is
important to keep the lamp on constant

power by keeping the light switch ON.

    4

Hold the base plate against the ceiling and mark the 2 holes where the screws need to go.

    5

Drill the holes to appropriate depth using a 6 mm drill.

    6

Put the plugs in the holes, hold the baseplate on the ceiling and run the electrical wires throught the hole.

    7

Place and tighten the screws making sure the baseplate is firmly fixed to the ceiling.

    Scherm_afbeelding_2023-02-28_om_13.25.22.png

    8

Connect the 3 electrical wires to the connector in the Nobi mounting base.

    9

Gently push the mounting base on the baseplate and align the 4 holes where the hexagonal screws need to come.

    10

Put in the 4 screws and tighten them with the provided Allen wrench.

    11

At this moment you have 3 steel cables and 1 power cable hanging down from the Nobi mounting base.

    Scherm_afbeelding_2023-02-28_om_13.27.19.png

    12

Next, hold Nobi and slide the 3 steel wires in the provided holes. You can slide in as much cable as necessary to put Nobi on the desired height.

    13

By sliding the cables, make sure that Nobi hangs horizontally on the ceiling (the use of a spirit level is recommended at this stage).

    14

You are now ready to switch the electricity back on.

    15

Nobi should boot (the LED bottom rings blinks blue indicating that Nobi is ready for onboarding).

    Types of switches

Switches remains in the position that they are set by a human action. There are 2 important types of switches:

    1. 3-way switches: switches with 3 connections, and a connection is made between always 2 of them (1 fixed, toggle between the 2 other contacts)

    2. 4-way switches: switches with 4 connections, and the connections are toggling between the horizontal position, and the crossed position (see figures at the left side)

    Scherm_afbeelding_2023-02-28_om_14.02.41.png

    Push buttons

Push buttons are only changing position when someone is pushing on the button. Without action they remain in their default status. A push button exists in 2 different versions, depending in the default status:

    1. Normal Open (NO) push buttons: the default status is that the contact is open. When pushed, the contact will close.

    2. Normal Closed (NC) push buttons: the default status is that the contact is closed. When pushed, the contact will open.

    Scherm_afbeelding_2023-02-28_om_14.03.37.png

    Wireless
    switching interface

The Bluetooth button interface should never be connected to the mains, or any other AC or DC power supply. The connections to the Bluetooth button interface should always be potential free.

    Scherm_afbeelding_2023-02-28_om_14.04.51.png

    Wired
    switching interface

The Shelly module can be used as interface to switch the Nobi light on or off. The diagram shows how to cable the shelly module.
Both a 3-way switch or a push button can be used.

    Scherm_afbeelding_2023-02-28_om_14.05.50.png

    Wired switching interface as relais

The Shelly module can be used as a relais to switch on and off additional lights in the room, together with the nobi light. In this case, the input of the Shelly module can not be used.

    Scherm_afbeelding_2023-02-28_om_14.06.45.png

    8. All that remains to be done is to create a resident.

    10_Resident_hoofdscherm_met_pijl.png

Press the "plus sign" at the top right.
Fill in the details of the resident now and choose the right housing unit.

    bewoner_split.png

If you now go back to the dashboard, you will see that the resident has been added.

    14_Resident_aangemaakt.png

    9. The only thing that still needs to be done before you can use the lamp and test it, is to complete your data.
In the home screen go to "Users".
    Press "Edit" on your user.
In the next screen you will see that the Mobile Phone field is still empty at the bottom.
Enter your number and press "Save".
This is now the first number that will be called in case of an escalation.gegevens_aanpassen_.png

Your lamp is now still in learning mode.
This means that the lamp still needs some time to learn the environment. This takes about 1 to 2 weeks.
After this period, you may contact support to disable learning mode. This can be done simply by pressing the question mark and do not forget to indicate which lamp it concerns in which site.

You are now ready to use and test your Nobi lamp.
