In this article, you will learn how to update the housing unit WIFI settings for a Nobi Gateway when the housing unit's WIFI network or password has changed.
2 min task
What
The Nobi Gateway connects to the internet via WIFI or Ethernet, allowing it to communicate with the Nobi Cloud when an Assistance Call or Wearable Call escalation is triggered.
If a Gateway's internet access is configured via WIFI, and the WIFI network or password changes, the settings need to be updated to keep it connected. These steps apply when the housing unit has its own WIFI network, separate from the department's. If the Gateway uses the department's WIFI network, update the department WIFI settings instead.
Why
If the WIFI network or password changes without updating the Gateway's settings, the Gateway will lose its connection to the Nobi Cloud and won't be able to communicate escalations. Keeping the WIFI settings up to date ensures the Gateway remains connected and can continue triggering Assistance Call and Wearable Call escalations.

Follow the steps below to update the housing unit WIFI settings for your Nobi Gateway. Update them before the WIFI network changes, while the Gateway is still connected. If the Gateway is already offline, factory reset it and onboard it again.
