Why don’t I see any residents’ names on the dashboard?
There are a few reasons why the residents’ names may not appear on the dashboard.
Privacy mode may be activated, which hides residents’ names and pictures on the dashboard.
Priority View may be activated, which only shows residents who have fallen and need assistance, technical alerts, or monitoring events.
Out of Bed view is active, which only displays residents currently out of their beds.
It is also possible that a resident may not be assigned to a housing unit.

We have a Nobi light installed in our care facility’s cafeteria but some residents are worried about their privacy. How can I apply mixed privacy settings for common areas?
Due to the number of different people that may pass through a common area, Nobi makes restrictive privacy settings default and mandatory for all common spaces with a Nobi light.
Nobi will still escalate when a fall have occurs, however features like live view, fall analysis are not available.
Find out more about Common Areas and the different Types of Housing Units by reading our Discover pages.

One of our residents has dementia and finds the fall confirmation distressing and confusing. How can I put the resident at ease?
If you wish to disable Nobi’s ability to communicate with the resident, you can do so in Residents via the Housing Unit tab.
By disabling voice confirmation, Nobi will no longer ask the resident if they have fallen. Instead, a fall will automatically be triggered and care staff alerted.
Learn more about voice confirmation here.

The Greeting is alarming to a specific resident. How can I configure this to fit my residents’ needs?
You can disable the morning greeting in the Housing Unit settings. This will stop the resident from receiving regular morning summaries, including the date, time, and current weather.
If the resident finds the greeting too loud, you can configure the volume settings via Speaker Volume.

The light is too bright for the resident and it's disturbing them—how can I make it more comfortable?

Why can't I see the resident’s live view in the application?
If you can’t see a live (abstract) view of a resident’s room, there are a few possible reasons:
-
The resident’s privacy settings may prevent you from viewing it.
- Shared or Jack and Jill rooms default to the most restrictive privacy settings. If one resident in a shared room has limited privacy settings, the live view may be unavailable.
-
Common areas are excluded from live view to protect everyone's privacy. You can read more about room types here.
- Nobita lights do not support live view.
- If a resident is in bed or not in the room, the live view is automatically disabled for privacy.
Any adjustment to privacy settings must only be made after obtaining the resident’s informed consent.

The resident prefers a nickname, but Nobi doesn’t seem to use it—can this be fixed?
Yes! Nobi allows care staff to set residents' preferred names.
This way, if the morning greeting feature is activated, or if Nobi asks the resident if they have fallen, they will be referred to by their preferred name, providing them with a sense of comfort and familiarity.

I want to make sure specific care team members are alerted for certain units—why can’t I set that up?
It is possible to assign specific members of care staff to a specific department in Departments via the Escalation Procedure tab.
Doing so can ensure that only that specific caregivers are alerted, overriding any other previously assigned caregivers for the site / community.
Learn more about escalation procedures here.
Why didn’t I receive an alert after the resident pressed the call button?
It is possible that the call button didn’t send an alert because it wasn’t paired to the resident’s housing unit. Learn more about adding peripherals here.
Another possibility is that the Wearable Call Button (Gen 1), needs to be charged. Charging the call button is recommended regularly.
It is also possible that an escalation procedure has not been set up for that specific resident. Please review the escalation procedures at all levels to ensure residents receive the care they need.
In addition, it is important to make sure that the resident is assigned to a housing unit. If a resident is not assigned to a housing unit, this may be the reason no alert was received.
Lastly, check to make sure that the Nobi light is online and functioning properly. You can do so by quickly referring to the Technical Issues menu.
