In this article, we’ll walk you through what escalation causes are in Nobi, and how to configure them.
3 min task
What
In the application, Nobi allows you to specify different causes for each escalation type. Once you’ve configured these, Nobi will prompt you to choose an escalation cause when closing an escalation. If the cause isn’t clear yet during the escalation, you can always add the cause afterwards.
Escalation causes are categorized by escalation type: falls, resident calls, and assistance calls (both with and without a resident involved).
All the escalation causes you’ve added are listed in the Causes tab in the Escalation flow section.
Why
Adding and using escalation causes helps you see the overall trends in your organization’s escalations. For example, escalations might be due to fatigue or a resident’s new medication. With this knowledge, you can take proactive measures to prevent future escalations, making these insights a crucial part of your wider care plan. Assigning a cause also works resident by resident, showing you why an individual resident is having escalations and giving you a clearer view of their care needs. For further insights into your residents, consult Resident Insights.
