This article explains how to install a Nobi Bridge or Nobi Bridge Duo and pair it to a Nobi light, so an existing wired tool can trigger Nobi.

What
The Nobi Bridge is a small, battery-powered peripheral that lets you connect a wired tool, such as a call cord, a pressure mat, a call button, or a head switch, to a Nobi light using Bluetooth.
It comes in two versions:
- Nobi Bridge: has one battery and connects one wired tool. It pairs as a single peripheral.
- Nobi Bridge duo: has two batteries. Using a stereo splitter, it can connect two separate wired tools to its two channels, and each one is paired on its own and can have its own function. It can also connect to a single tool that already has two built-in functions, for example a nurse call pendant with a resident call button and a separate button to control the light. The stereo splitter is not included with a Nobi Bridge duo, so if you plan to connect two items with different functions, make sure you have one before you begin.
You can check the label on the back of the device to see which one you have.
When you pair a Nobi Bridge, you choose what it should do: turn the Nobi light on or off, detect sensor input (for example a mat or a call button), or start a resident call.
Why
Care staff may already be using tools, such as wired call cords, mats, and buttons that are attached to a resident's bed for fall detection. The Nobi Bridge connects these existing tools to Nobi as peripherals, allowing staff to build on already smart care.
Detailed steps
Follow the steps below to connect an existing tool to a Nobi Bridge, and pair the Bridge as a peripheral.
- Connect the wired tool to the Nobi Bridge's jack (1/4 in / 6.3 mm). If your tool's plug is smaller (1/8 in / 3.5 mm), use the included adapter.
-
Open the navigation menu and tap on Housing units.
-
Tap the housing unit where you want to install the Bridge and press Edit.
-
Open the Peripherals tab.
- Press + Add. A wizard will open to guide you through the steps.
-
Choose the function you want this connection to perform: Control light, Detect sensor input, or Send resident call.
- Choose Nobi Bridge as the product and press Next.
-
Select which room within the housing unit you want to pair the Bridge to. The Nobi light will flash to indicate which light you are pairing the Nobi Bridge to. Then, press Next.
-
Trigger the connected tool to complete pairing, for example press the call button or step on the pressure mat.
- When pairing is complete, you return to the Peripherals tab with the Nobi Bridge added to the list. A green banner will appear at the top of the page to confirm the link. The Nobi Bridge will be labeled based on the function you paired it with: Nobi Bridge Sensor for Detect sensor input, Light via Nobi Bridge for Control light, or Calls via Nobi Bridge for Send resident call.
- Trigger the connected tool, for example pull the call cord or step off the pressure mat, and confirm that Nobi begins the expected escalation, with the Bridge shown as the peripheral that triggered it.
You have now paired the Nobi Bridge to Nobi. You can also read about other peripherals to use with the Nobi light and how to maintain the Nobi Bridge.
